This month ArtConnect is partnering with 16 Nicholson Street Gallery to get selected artists a package of exciting awards such as one-on-one curatorial reviews, studio visits, magazine features, online promotion, and much more!

About

16 Nicholson Street Gallery is a Glasgow-based, non-profit arts facilitation space run by a curatorial collaborative. The gallery was established in 2016 and all organization and programming is managed by Isabella Shields, Nell Cardozo, and Aga Paulina Młyńczak.

16NST curates and facilitates events, workshops, talks, mentorship programs, and exhibitions. Their aim is to create a dialogue between artists and makers from Scotland and create a network with international artists. By introducing and encouraging collaborations between established and emerging artists we hope to develop an inclusive, engaging, and intellectually rich space.

Isabella’s current critical focus is on ethics in practices of self-representation across visual art and contemporary literature.

Aga works with audio-visual installation art at the meeting point of sculpture, technology, camera, and sound.

Director & Curator

Nell’s curatorial interest lies in queer bodies, entropy, and their position within the potentiality of alternative economies.

Application Process

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from artists at any stage of their career, based anywhere in the world — regardless of media or educational background. In short, anyone with artwork to share. So don’t be afraid to show us what you’ve got!

Requirements

Artists are asked to submit up to 3 artworks along with their artist statement via the application form.

However, if you’re an ArtConnect Pro member, all you need to do is include a link to your profile!

Selection Process

Outstanding artwork deserves to be seen by top industry experts. We believe the selection process should include many different voices, that’s why we invite an international jury of professionals from across the contemporary art field to join our jury.
