BIO
Daniel is an Abu Dhabi-based independent curator advocating for #YouthCuratingYouth and cross-pollination in the Global South. He is the Contemporary Art Advisor at Dirwaza Curatorial Lab as well as Curator and Alumnus of Art Jameel’s Youth Assembly. Daniel’s recent exhibitions include No sé si por cultura o seguridad. I portray softness mainly (Art Curator Grid), WAW - we are wondering (Dubai, 2020-21), the Jameel Youth Takeover (Dubai, 2020), and the launching showcase of Emergentes - Art Funds (Asunción, 2019).
Since 2017, he has supported activations within the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi project, Abu Dhabi Art, Warehouse421, Alserkal Avenue, and Art Dubai. Daniel balances his institutional presence with grassroots engagements via Global Art Daily publication and Engage101, a Gulf-based research-and-collecting platform. As an NYU Abu Dhabi graduate, he has continued learning via Forsa School (Naqd & Sharjah Art Foundation) and NODE Center for Curatorial Studies (Berlin).
Daniel feels at home in Paraguay, Norway, the UAE, and hopefully Mars.
