Giorgi Rodionov is a guest curator of ArtConnect's Artists to Watch ‘22
Giorgi Rodionov is a Tbilisi-based artist and a curator focused on socio-political stories that change eras. Having grown up in post-Soviet Georgia his interest in social structures and identities grew a lot. Giorgi curated numerous exhibitions and public art events in different countries.
In 2019 Giorgi founded and curated an art space "Untitled Tbilisi" that units artists and art activists from the whole region of South Caucasus to talk about human right and social justice in the area. The space, curated by him, hosted a lot of exhibitions, workshops, lectures and queer film festival within over three years.
Most of Giorgi’s works are based on his researches that are later transformed into projects in the collaboration with different artists, institutions or artivists. Since 2021 together with "artists at risk" organization he is curating the relocation projects in Tbilisi for the artists who are in danger due to their art works or simply thoughts and statements.
