Keng Sen Ong is a guest curator of ArtConnect's Artists to Watch ‘22


Keng Sen Ong, artistic director of TheatreWorks and the artspace 72-13 in Singapore, founded Arts Network Asia and the international Curators Academy, focused on the synergy between contexts and curation in Asia. He created the nomadic, international artist residency, The Flying Circus Project. Ong is the Founding Festival Director of the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) from 2013 to 2017. In 2021, he was the Artistic Director of Prince Claus Funds’ 25-hour Festival to commemorate 25 years of existence. Together with Shermin Langhoff he co-founded the Young Curators Academy at Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin, the latest installment of which, The Curator’s Suitcase, took place in April 2022. Since the 2020/2021 season he has been a member of the Artistic Advisory Board, which advises Artistic Director Shermin Langhoff on the artistic direction of Gorki Theatre. Ong holds a Ph.D. Performance Studies from New York University Tisch School of Arts.
