Tuçe Erel uses her sociology education in her curatorial research; however, she prefers to twist and challenge the conventional social science methodologies in her practice. In the last years, she has been exploring the concept of hacking to unbox the idea of bio-politics, the anthropocene, ecological crisis, naturecultures, non-human agency, artistic speculation, and imagination.

Since January 2017, she is a member of TOP Transdisciplinary Project Space, where she hosted the Posthumanism reading group between 2018 and 2020. She is also a team member at Art Laboratory Berlin since the end of 2019. In August 2020, she started hosting a podcast series, titled Art Next Door, featuring the independent art scene in Berlin.
