Dutch Foundation for Literature | Writers’ Residence Amsterdam
Operating since 2006, the Dutch Foundation for Literature invites international authors who have had their work translated into Dutch as writers-in-residence. Their space in the heart of Amsterdam has a history of hosting renowned international authors who have produced some of their most acclaimed work.
Applications are continuously open.
Rewards: €1.350 writers’ grant, accommodation, and event opportunities.
Nieuw en Meer | Guest Studio Residency
Home to over 100 artists and creative businesses, Nieuw en Meer is an incredible creative community set in a former squatted military depot. It is also located beside a beautiful park and lake, yet is still close to central Amsterdam, therefore offering the best of both worlds and the perfect setting for artistic development.
Please note that this studio residency does not provide housing. Applications are open on a rolling basis.
Fee: €450 per month or €575 for couples

De Ateliers | Two-Year Residency Program
The two-year program at De Ateliers offers an extended period of support for artists to practice in light, bright and spacious studios in central Amsterdam. The program is accompanied by regular studio visits, further facilities, exhibition opportunities and access to a thriving community of artists.
Applications usually close in January, keep an eye on upcoming open calls with their ArtConnect profile.
Rewards: €15.864 yearly stipend, €2,000 yearly production budget, accommodation, studio & exhibition. Note: participation fee of €3.000 is deducted from the stipend.
Rijksakademie | Two-Year Residency
The Rijksakademie has been operating for over 150 years, making it one of the most prestigious institutions in the Netherlands. Offering a two-year residency program with significant funding, their program should not be overlooked by artists interested in developing their practice in Amsterdam.
The open call for the residency 2028, will open on 1 January 2027. Stay updated via their ArtConnect profile.

1646 | ReCNTR RESIDENCY
With an international focus and valuing the circulation of perspectives, this fully funded Residency Program is set up as a retreat to nourish work, develop ideas and connections. Through an annual open call, 1646 open our doors to artists worldwide. In 2026, the open call was a collaboration between ReCNTR.
The open call for the 2027 residency will open in December 2026, stay up to date on their ArtConnect profile.

Jan van Eyck Academie | Residency
The Jan van Eyck Academie welcomes some 36-42 participants from all over the world annually. Next to visual artists, the academy is open to designers – ranging from graphic design, fashion, food to social design – architects, curators, writers and other artistic researchers and makers.
Each year, their call for applications is open for two months starting in December and candidates can apply for a 11-month residency. Stay updated via their ArtConnect profile.

EKWC | Artist-In-Residence
EKWC’s international artist-in-residence programme offers creative professionals from all disciplines the opportunity to concentrate entirely on a challenging plan, project or research in ceramics. EKWC Classic residents are creative professionals working in a wide variety of practices in art, design and architecture.
