Wildacres Retreat hosts hundreds of writers, artisans, and musicians. Participants in the program stay in one of three self-catering cabins located just a quarter-mile beyond the retreat entrance. Each year for one-week residencies from April through October. McColl Center for Art + Innovation is a nationally acclaimed artist residency and contemporary art space in Charlotte, North Carolina. McColl Center houses individual artist studios, more than 5,000 square feet of exhibition space, and multiple common-use spaces, including wood, sculpture, ceramic, printmaking, media, and 3D labs. They invite artists to take risks in their processes and explore their ideas within the context of Charlotte and the visiting public to connect with contemporary art and artists through exhibitions and public programs.

Weymouth Center for the Arts | The Writers’-in-Residence Program
The Writers-in-Residence Program offers writers stays of up to two weeks a year to pursue their work. There have been over six hundred residencies here, and many writers have said their most creative periods occurred in the tranquil, inspiring atmosphere of the Boyds’ home. The Weymouth Center also enjoys a strong affiliation with area garden clubs, including the Sandhills Council of Garden Clubs.
